Senior Estimator - Civils & Groundworks

Location: Penrith, Cumbria

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We're working with an established civils and groundworks contractor based in Penrith who are looking to bring an experienced Senior Estimator into the team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in civil engineering and groundworks to take ownership of tenders and help support the company's continued growth.

The Role:

• Preparing accurate cost estimates and tenders for civils and groundworks projects.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Producing detailed take-offs and pricing works from first principles.
• Obtaining and reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities within tenders.
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the tender process.
• Working closely with the commercial and delivery teams to ensure competitive and realistic pricing.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within civils and groundworks.
• Strong knowledge of groundworks, infrastructure and civil engineering packages.
• Experience pricing projects from initial enquiry through to tender submission.
• Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Confident managing multiple tenders and working to deadlines.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
