My client is seeking an experienced Product Development Manager to lead the strategic development of qualifications, products and services within a regulated awarding organisation environment. This is a key leadership role responsible for shaping and managing a product portfolio that is innovative, compliant, commercially sustainable and aligned to future sector needs.

\n

Working closely with senior leadership, you'll identify new opportunities for growth, monitor regulatory and policy developments, build robust business cases and ensure products remain relevant in a changing education and qualifications landscape. You'll also lead and develop a team of Qualification Development Managers while maintaining strong relationships with regulators and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction of qualifications, products and services.
\n
• Manage and develop Qualification Development Managers.
\n
• Conduct market research, horizon scanning and sector analysis.
\n
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise leadership teams on emerging risks and opportunities.
\n
• Develop business cases for new products, qualifications and services.
\n
• Ensure product development activities meet regulatory, governance and funding requirements.
\n
• Build relationships with regulators, employers, providers and sector bodies.
\n
• Oversee product lifecycle management, evaluation and continuous improvement.
\n

About You

\n

\n
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
\n
• Experience working within an Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation.
\n
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
\n
• Strong background in qualification or product development.
\n
• Knowledge of qualification regulation, funding and compliance frameworks.
\n
• Commercially aware with the ability to assess sustainability, risk and market opportunities.
\n
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
\n
