Quantity Surveyor

About you If you are an experienced Quantity Surveyor who enjoys managing the commercial side of construction projects and wants a role with genuine responsibility, this could be a really good opportunity. You will be joining an established construction business, working from their Central London office in the SE1 area. You will be responsible for the commercial management of allocated projects, working closely with the operational teams to make sure costs, margins and contractual matters are properly controlled. This is a position where you will have ownership of your projects rather than simply supporting somebody else with valuations and reporting. You will need to be confident managing your own workload, dealing with subcontractors and clients and making commercially sensible decisions. The salary is £65,000 to £70,000 per annum. Your experience You will need previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, with a strong understanding of commercial management and project delivery. You should be comfortable managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations, forecasting, cost reporting and final accounts. Experience producing CVRs and Cost to Complete reports will be important, along with the ability to monitor project cash flow and understand how costs are affecting profitability.
