Tenancy Resolution Lead Officer

Job description

INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

Fixed Term Contract or Secondment Opportunity until 31 March 2028

Ref: H7591

Do you have experience managing complex housing cases and supporting vulnerable residents?

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Tenancy Resolution Lead Officer to help lead our newly established Tenancy Resolution Service.

This is a unique opportunity to provide operational leadership within a specialist service focused on sustaining tenancies, reducing risk, supporting vulnerable residents and resolving complex housing issues before they escalate.

You will provide day-to-day leadership, professional guidance and quality assurance to a team of Tenancy Resolution Officers managing complex, high-risk and vulnerability-related tenancy cases. Working alongside the Tenancy Resolution Manager, you will support staff with case management, safeguarding, partnership working and tenancy sustainment interventions, ensuring services are delivered safely, proportionately and consistently.

The role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting residents, developing staff and improving outcomes through professional, person-centred intervention.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has substantial experience managing complex housing, tenancy sustainment or vulnerability-related casework.
  • Understands safeguarding, risk management and partnership working.
  • Can provide leadership, coaching and professional oversight to others.
  • Is confident making decisions in complex and sensitive situations.
  • Is committed to achieving positive outcomes for residents.
  • Can build effective relationships with partner agencies and internal services.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new service and make a real difference to residents facing some of the most challenging circumstances.

At Dacorum Borough Council, we are committed to delivering excellent housing services and creating positive outcomes for our residents. If you are looking for a rewarding leadership opportunity and want to be part of an ambitious and supportive team, we would love to hear from you.

Applicants must hold a full driving licence valid in the UK.

A satisfactory DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.

The deadline for applications will be midnight on the closing date shown in the advert details.

Information for applicants on Local Government Reorganisation

The Council is going through a major change as part of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and devolution. This means that the district and borough councils in Hertfordshire will be replaced by a smaller number of new unitary councils.

The aim is to make local government simpler and more efficient, improve services for residents, and bring decision-making closer to the communities we serve.

What this means for you

If you join Dacorum Borough Council between now and 31 March 2029, you will move to a new organisation on 1 April 2029. Your role will transfer to the new authority, but the way you work and who you report to may change.

While this may be different from what you are used to, it is also a rare and exciting opportunity to join Dacorum at a time of real change.

You will have the chance to help shape the future of local services and be part of building something new.

The new unitary councils will create opportunities for innovation, growth, and better public services. They will offer a more joined-up and forward-looking working environment for employees.

We are committed to supporting our staff and continuing to deliver high-quality services for residents throughout this change. Together, we are building a better future.
