Temporary Purchase Ledger Clerk

Location: York
Pay Rate: 13.20 per hour
Job Type: Temporary

Castle Employment Group is working with a respected organisation in York to recruit a Temporary Purchase Ledger Clerk to support its finance team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous purchase ledger experience who enjoys working accurately keeping financial records up to date and supporting the smooth running of a busy finance function.

Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider team you will play an important role in maintaining accurate supplier accounts and ensuring financial transactions are processed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchase invoices accurately checking VAT and ensuring transactions are correctly recorded.

  • Reconcile supplier statements and investigate any discrepancies.

  • Bank cheques and cash ensuring transactions are allocated correctly.

  • Input financial information into internal systems and maintain accurate up-to-date bank records.

  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required.

About You

  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role.

  • Good knowledge of invoice processing VAT checks and supplier statement reconciliations.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.

  • The ability to manage your workload independently and meet deadlines.

  • Confidence using financial systems and carrying out accurate data entry.

  • Experience working within a charity or not-for-profit organisation would be advantageous.
