Head Waiter

Poon's is a London institution. Since the 1970s, the Poon family has been serving Cantonese cooking to the city, and today we carry that legacy on at Somerset House: a lively, characterful restaurant built around wind-dried meats, roast duck, wontons and generous sharing plates, set in one of London's most iconic cultural landmarks.

We're looking for a full-time Head Waiter or Waitress to lead the floor and set the standard for service at every table. You'll look after your own section while guiding and supporting the wider team, working closely with management and the kitchen to keep every service running smoothly. You'll be the go-to person on the floor, confident talking guests through the menu and our wine list, and ready to step up when the manager isn't there.

We'd love to hear from you if you're an experienced head waiter or senior server who loves great food and great hospitality, leads by example, and wants to grow your career with a much-loved London brand.

• Lead a section of the floor and give warm, attentive service from greeting to farewell
• Run pre-service briefings with the manager on duty, covering specials, allergens, bookings and VIPs
• Guide guests through the menu, explaining Poon's signature dishes, wind-dried meats and sharing-style dining
• Recommend and upsell wine, drinks and dishes to grow average spend
