Role: Teacher of English – KS3–KS4 Location: Dunstable, Bedfordshire Contract: Full-time, permanent Start Date: ASAP Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience A secondary academy in Dunstable is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join its department as soon as possible. The successful candidate will help pupils develop strong literacy skills, engage with a broad range of literature and build the confidence needed to succeed at GCSE. The Role Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4. Plan lessons covering poetry, prose, drama, creative writing and analytical reading. Develop pupils' extended writing, vocabulary and comprehension. Prepare GCSE classes through structured examination practice and targeted feedback. Monitor attainment and adapt lessons to meet different learning needs. Contribute to curriculum planning and wider departmental activities. The Candidate Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Has strong English subject knowledge and effective classroom management. Can motivate pupils and maintain high expectations. Uses assessment to identify gaps and improve progress.
