Senior C++ Software Engineer

We have an opportunity for an experienced Contract C++ Software Engineer to join a multi-site engineering team supporting complex, high-precision scientific instrument control software on the Windows platform. The C++ Software Engineer contract has been determined as inside IR35 and offers a day rate of £525 – £550 p/day on an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend. Hybrid working is required, so you should be able to be onsite in the Cambridge area for at least 2-3 days per week. The Role - C++ Software Engineer You will maintain, troubleshoot and improve a large, established C++ control software platform used on advanced scientific instruments, working alongside cross-site teams in the UK and Europe. * Investigate, debug and resolve issues across a large existing C++ codebase, covering both hardware control and user interface code. * Maintain and improve existing functionality, keeping the software robust and reliable. * Work with applications specialists and engineering colleagues to diagnose and fix customer and system issues. * Maintain software documentation, change control and version tracking standards. * Work in an Agile environment using Visual Studio, Git and Azure DevOps.
