School Caretaker

Location: Keyworth, Nottingham

Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm

\n

Pay Rate: £14 per hour

\n

\n

Blue Arrow Derby is currently recruiting for a School Caretaker to join a welcoming school in Keyworth, Nottingham. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who is proactive, reliable and takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and well-presented environment.

\n

Duties will include:\n

\n
• Carrying out general site maintenance, minor repairs and basic DIY tasks
\n
• Opening and securing the school site each day
\n
• Cleaning classrooms, corridors, dining areas and changing facilities to a high standard
\n
• Maintaining outdoor areas, including litter picking and general upkeep
\n
• Setting up and clearing away furniture for lessons, meetings and events
\n
• Receiving deliveries and monitoring stock levels of site supplies
\n
• Supporting fire safety procedures, including acting as a Fire Warden when required
\n
• Assisting with lunchtime duties and cleaning tasks
\n
• Liaising with contractors and supporting maintenance projects on site
\n
• Completing routine compliance checks and maintaining accurate records
\n

What we're looking for:\n

\n
• Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Supervisor, Janitor, Handyperson or in a similar role would be advantageous
\n
• An Enhanced DBS certificate dated within the last 12 months, or willingness to obtain one
\n
• Ability to undertake manual handling tasks, including moving furniture and equipment
\n
• Good communication skills and a positive, flexible approach to work
\n
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
\n
• Understanding of cleaning procedures and safe use of cleaning products and equipment
\n
