A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Strategic Procurement Specialist within Siemens Energy’s Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Procurement Team, you’ll help build and manage a competitive, transparent and sustainable supply chain for critical gas turbine components and services. Your work will focus on strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management and supplier performance, helping Procurement support reliable delivery, cost competitiveness and quality.
You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, strategic commodity management teams and suppliers across a global matrix organisation. This will include planning negotiations, preparing sourcing decisions, reviewing market trends, managing supplier relationships and making sure contractual terms support business needs.
This is a role for someone who combines strong commercial judgement with the ability to work in a technical manufacturing environment. You’ll need to be comfortable using data, engaging suppliers early on cost reduction opportunities and balancing price, quality, delivery and risk in a complex supply base.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Implement commodity strategies and define local or regional material field strategies for non-pooled commodities, aligning with wider pooling opportunities where relevant.
- Plan negotiations, define awarding strategies and prepare sourcing board approvals to support transparent and robust procurement decisions.
- Negotiate local, regional and multi-site supplier contracts, including pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms and wider contractual conditions.
- Manage assigned supplier relationships, contribute to the EcoSystem commodity strategy and support the development of a preferred supplier list.
- Analyse market trends, supplier performance and procurement data to improve sourcing strategies, reporting and decision-making.
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks, encourage early supplier involvement in cost reduction activities and ensure contractual terms are aligned with business requirements.
What You Bring
- 5+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing or commodity management within a complex, global environment.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or CIPS qualification.
- Strong commercial, contractual and project management acumen, with proven negotiation skills.
- Excellent Excel skills for data analysis, reporting and supplier performance monitoring.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across a global supplier base and matrix organisation.
- Familiarity with component manufacturing processes and quality standards would be highly valuable.
