Key Responsibilities

  • First-Day Absence Calls: Contact parents and guardians via phone, email, and automated messaging systems regarding pupil non-attendance.

  • Data & System Management: Input and maintain precise attendance records on the school's information system (such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom), generating regular data reports for leadership.

  • Intervention & Support: Identify pupils with declining attendance or persistent absence, working alongside pastoral teams to set up supportive intervention plans and hold meetings with parents.

  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure all reporting aligns with local authority attendance codes, legal frameworks, and safeguarding policies.

Requirements

  • Experience: Background working within an educational setting in an attendance, administrative, or pastoral capacity.

  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with families while maintaining a firm and clear approach to attendance policies.

  • Attributes: Strong organizational ability, attention to detail, and a discreet, professional approach to handling sensitive information.

  • Safeguarding: An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or readiness to complete a full application immediately).

  • Ongoing professional development and system training.

  • Excellent public transport links and on-site parking facilities.
