A welcoming community secondary school in Coventry is seeking an enthusiastic, analytical, and dedicated Maths Teacher to join their strong Mathematics department ASAP. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, engaging mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 (A Level Mathematics or Further Mathematics) depending on your experience and specialism. You will foster problem-solving skills, numerical confidence, and a passion for mathematics across all pupil ability levels. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and evaluate structured Mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in alignment with the National Curriculum and GCSE exam board specifications.
Utilize diagnostic assessments and progress data to identify learning gaps and implement effective intervention and revision strategies.
Differentiate teaching methods to support pupils with SEND or EAL needs while challenging high-attaining pupils targeting top GCSE grades.
Prepare pupils thoroughly for GCSE and A Level examinations through targeted exam practice, problem-solving workshops, and constructive feedback.
Collaborate with department colleagues to refine schemes of work, share innovative teaching strategies, and participate in extra-curricular math challenges.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS.
Proven teaching experience or strong placement record in secondary Mathematics, with thorough knowledge of current GCSE specifications.
Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Legal right to work in the UK.
