As a specialist structural engineering consultancy based in Bristol and part of the wider RSK Group, we work across structural engineering, modern methods of construction, building investigations, expert engineering services, and timber and steel structures.

We're now looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team.

This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys technical challenges, wants greater involvement in specialist projects, and is excited by the prospect of developing expertise in timber engineering and fire design.

Whether you already have timber design experience or are keen to learn, we'll support your development and provide exposure to projects that many engineers simply don't get the opportunity to work on.

The Role

You'll be responsible for:

• Contributing to innovative projects involving timber construction and fire design
• Producing calculations, technical reports and specifications
• Delivering structural design projects from concept through to completion
• Leading technical design and analysis work
• Working closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary project teams
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
• Assisting with investigations, assessments and specialist engineering commissions where appropriate

What We're Looking For

We're interested in experienced structural engineers who can bring strong technical capability and a collaborative approach.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Chartered status (CEng MIStructE/MICE) or be working towards chartership
• Significant Technical report writing experience
• Experience designing with common structural materials such as steel, concrete, masonry and timber
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• A problem-solving mindset and willingness to tackle complex engineering challenges
• A willingness to get involved in the offsite prefabrication sector, timber construction and fire design
