Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire Position: Teacher of History Start Date: January 2027 Contract: Fixed-term, two terms Salary/Hours: MPS/UPS | Full-time Wayman Education is seeking an engaging History Teacher for a well-established secondary school in Grantham. This opportunity would suit a teacher who can bring historical events and debates to life while helping pupils develop the ability to interpret evidence, construct arguments and understand change over time. The School The school aims to maintain high standards of teaching and learning while encouraging pupils to become independent and curious learners. The Humanities Department supports pupils in developing a broad understanding of historical periods, societies and significant events. The Role The successful candidate will teach History across KS3 and KS4, supporting pupils with historical enquiry and examination preparation. Responsibilities include: Planning and delivering structured History lessons. Teaching a range of historical periods and themes. Developing source analysis, interpretation and essay-writing skills. Preparing pupils for GCSE assessments and examinations. Assessing learning and identifying areas for improvement. Differentiating teaching to support pupils of varying abilities. Contributing to collaborative planning and departmental resources. The Ideal Candidate Holds QTS and a relevant teaching qualification. Has a History specialism and secure subject knowledge. Can teach confidently across KS3 and KS4. Has strong classroom-management and communication skills. Can explain complex historical ideas clearly. Is committed to supporting progress and maintaining high expectations. Salary Paid in line with the applicable MPS/UPS teacher pay scale, depending on experience and the school's arrangements.
