Major Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a busy engineering department at a well-established manufacturing and production facility in Manchester.

\n

Our client manufactures and packs a wide range of products, supplying major supermarket customers. They are looking for a proactive, dual-skilled engineer to support the smooth running of production machinery through effective preventative and reactive maintenance.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and identifying opportunities to improve plant reliability and performance.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across all production machinery.
\n
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults.
\n
• Identify and implement improvements to machinery, equipment and production processes.
\n
• Ensure maintenance work is completed on time and to a high standard.
\n
• Work safely and efficiently, following relevant health and safety procedures.
\n
• Support the day-to-day operation of the engineering department.
\n
• Adapt to changing business and production requirements.
\n

Skills and Experience Required

\n

\n
• Relevant engineering and electrical qualifications, or completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
\n
• Experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
\n
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
\n
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
\n
• A high standard of workmanship, quality and attention to detail.
\n
• A flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to work.
\n
• The ability to work independently and use initiative.
\n
