This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious educator—whether an experienced teacher or a motivated Early Career Teacher (ECT)—looking to champion girls' sports, physical wellbeing, and healthy lifestyles in a supportive, high-performing environment.

About the Role

As a PE Teacher, you will play a key role in empowering young women to develop physical literacy, confidence, team spirit, and a lifelong commitment to fitness and wellbeing. You will deliver an engaging, inclusive sports curriculum across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (Core PE & GCSE PE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level / Level 3 BTEC Sport), utilizing modern indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

  • Start Date: Immediate or upcoming term

  • Environment: A welcoming, forward-thinking all-girls community school dedicated to breaking barriers in sports and building pupil self-esteem

  • Culture: A collaborative, active, and encouraging workplace backed by a strong leadership team and dedicated PE staff

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, energetic PE and sports lessons across a wide variety of disciplines, including team sports, athletics, gymnastics, and fitness training.

  • Teach theory and practical units for GCSE PE and vocational sports qualifications at KS4 and KS5.

  • Organize, coach, and lead extra-curricular sports clubs, fixtures, and inter-school competitions across the London borough and beyond.

  • Promote an inclusive ethos in physical activity, encouraging participation among pupils of all confidence and fitness levels.

  • Track, assess, and evaluate student achievement, fostering athletic excellence alongside personal development and leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification.

  • A relevant degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Coaching, or a closely aligned discipline.

  • Proven track record or demonstrated capability of delivering high-impact PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5/GCSE PE experience is an advantage).

  • Active commitment to leading extra-curricular sports fixtures, clubs, and weekend/after-school events.

  • Outstanding communication, motivational, and behavioral management skills, with a strong passion for inspiring young women in sports.

Salary & Benefits

  • Pay Scale: Outer London MPS/UPS pay scale (commensurate with experience), with potential TLR opportunities available for candidates interested in fixture coordination or departmental responsibilities.

  • Comprehensive continuous professional development (CPD), coaching certifications, and clear avenues for career progression within an empowering school community.
