We are looking for a passionate educator who can inspire students through innovative, evidence-based teaching and provide an outstanding learning experience. You will contribute to teaching, assessment and curriculum development, across our forensic science portfolio, while also supporting teaching more broadly within the department.
We welcome applications from candidates with academic, industrial, or practitioner backgrounds. We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Marks and traces evidence
- The English legal system and the role of forensic science within criminal justice
- ISO standards and quality management within forensic practice

You will join a collaborative team of experienced practitioners and academics committed to delivering an excellent student experience and maintaining high professional standards. Our forensic science programmes are recognised among the top-performing in the UK (Complete University Guide), providing students with a strong blend of scientific knowledge, practical skills, and professional relevance.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive and collegiate approach, a commitment to educational excellence, and the ability to contribute to the continued growth and success of the subject area. Whether you are an established academic seeking your next challenge or a forensic professional looking to transition into higher education, we would welcome your application.
This nine-month fixed-term appointment offers an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and high-performing team and help shape the next generation of forensic scientists.

We'll still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them perfectly. To ensure the diverse needs of our team are met we actively encourage secondments and offer flexible part-time working patterns - we're focused on finding the right person for the role.
