Job description

We’re Civica and we make software that helps deliver critical services for citizens all around the world. From local to state government, to education, to health and care, over 5,000 public bodies across the globe use our software to help provide critical services to over 100 million citizens.

Our aspiration is to be a GovTech champion everywhere we work around the globe, supporting the needs of citizens and those that serve them every day. Building on 21 years of continuous growth and success, we're at a pivotal point on our journey to realise that aspiration.

Why you’ll love this role of IT Hardware Engineer
This is a hands-on role at the heart of our End User Services team, helping make sure our UK colleagues have the technology they need to do their best work.

Based from our Leeds office, you’ll take ownership of hardware throughout its lifecycle, from preparing and deploying new laptops and devices through to troubleshooting, stock management, refresh, redeployment and disposal.

It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys technology but equally enjoys working with people. You don’t need to be a deep technical specialist. We’re looking for someone with good practical IT knowledge who takes ownership, communicates confidently and is keen to learn.

You’ll join an experienced team where you’ll have the opportunity to build your knowledge, contribute ideas and make a visible difference to the service we provide to colleagues across Civica.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage the lifecycle of laptops, desktops, mobile phones and peripherals
• Prepare, pre-provision, deploy, refresh, redeploy and decommission end-user devices
• Support device deployment using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot
• Troubleshoot routine hardware, deployment and device enrolment issues
• Use Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint for relevant device and compliance checks
• Maintain accurate hardware asset, stock and inventory records
• Coordinate purchasing, deliveries, returns, repairs, reuse and disposal of equipment
• Carry out hands-on device preparation, checks, wiping and stock management from our Leeds office
• Manage hardware incidents and service requests through our ITSM system
• Provide occasional onsite support for meeting-room AV equipment and other end-user technology
• Work with suppliers, couriers and internal teams to ensure equipment reaches colleagues when they need it
• Keep users informed and provide a friendly, professional and responsive service
• Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to improvements in processes, documentation and knowledge articles
