£43,000 - £48,000 + Tools + Overtime + Progression + Training

Are you a qualified Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with proven experience maintaining critical building-services plant within a live hospital or healthcare environment?

\n

Do you want a vital, hands-on role where your mechanical fault-finding expertise directly supports patient safety, statutory compliance, and the reliable operation of essential hospital infrastructure?

\n

This healthcare estates provider manages critical hospital infrastructure, delivering high-standard maintenance and emergency response across live healthcare facilities.

\n

On offer is the opportunity to join a dedicated estates team in a key role carrying out planned preventive maintenance, reactive repairs, and minor mechanical works across HVAC, heating, chilled water, domestic water, ventilation, pumps, valves, boilers, and associated plant. You will work strictly under Safe Systems of Work and have clear development pathways, including Authorised Person (AP) training and appointment.

The Role:

\n

\n
• Execute mechanical planned preventive maintenance schedules and handle rapid reactive repairs across plant equipment within occupied hospital buildings
\n
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on HVAC, heating, chilled water, domestic water, ventilation, pumps, valves, boilers, and associated building-services plant
\n
• Support water hygiene, ventilation, and other statutory compliance activities in line with site procedures and healthcare standards
\n
• Participate in the out-of-hours breakdown response rota while maintaining professional relationships with clinical teams, specialist contractors, and estates staff
\n

The Person:

\n

\n
• Proven mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience in a hospital, healthcare, or similar critical/occupied environment
\n
• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent
\n
• Strong background in HVAC, heating, ventilation, water systems, mechanical plant fault-finding, and understanding of Safe Systems of Work
\n
• Full UK driving licence
\n
