Finance Manager - Crawley, West Sussex - £60,000-£70,000 + Bonus

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Finance Manager to join a well-established and highly regarded business within residential property development.

\n

Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider senior management team, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, providing meaningful commercial insight and supporting the financial performance of the business.

\n

This is a varied and hands-on position offering excellent exposure to both financial and operational aspects of the business, making it an ideal opportunity for an ambitious qualified accountant looking to develop their career within a commercially focused environment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
\n
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and commentary.
\n
• Analyse financial performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
\n
• Work closely with commercial and operational teams to monitor project profitability and financial performance.
\n
• Prepare weekly and monthly sales, revenue and operational performance reports.
\n
• Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
\n
• Monitor cash movements, forecasts and working capital requirements.
\n
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
\n
• Ensure the integrity of financial information and maintain a robust internal control environment.
\n
• Assist with year-end statutory accounts preparation and external audit requirements.
\n
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting systems and efficiencies.
\n
• Provide support to the Financial Controller and deputise where required.
\n

Candidate Profile:

\n

We're looking for a commercially minded and proactive qualified accountant who enjoys combining financial reporting with business partnering and analysis.

\n

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
\n
• Strong experience in management accounting, financial reporting and month-end processes.
\n
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate financial information.
\n
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial reporting systems.
\n
• A good understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and accounting principles.
\n
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
