Role Overview

An established secondary school in Redbridge is seeking an organized, discreet, and highly diligent Safeguarding Administrator to support their Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and pastoral welfare team ASAP. In this critical administrative support role, you will manage confidential safeguarding records, log child protection concerns, coordinate multi-agency referrals, and act as a key point of contact for external children's services, healthcare professionals, and families. This non-teaching role requires exceptional attention to detail, sensitivity, and a strong commitment to keeping children safe in education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain meticulous, secure, and fully confidential safeguarding records using specialized management software (e.g., CPOMS, MyConcern, or SIMS).

  • Process, log, and triage daily welfare concerns and safeguarding referrals submitted by school staff under the direction of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

  • Coordinate and schedule statutory safeguarding meetings, TAF (Team Around the Family) conferences, and multi-agency reviews, taking accurate, confidential minutes.

  • Liaise effectively with Redbridge Children’s Social Care, the local authority designated officer (LADO), CAMHS, and external support agencies.

  • Monitor attendance and educational welfare data for Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP) plans, and Looked After Children (LAC).

Key Requirements

  • Previous administrative experience within an educational setting, social care environment, or youth-focused service.

  • Proficiency in using secure safeguarding databases (CPOMS, MyConcern) and general school information management systems (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom).

  • Up-to-date knowledge of statutory safeguarding legislation, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and working with multi-agency partners.

  • Exceptional emotional resilience, discretion, and ability to handle highly sensitive and distressing information with absolute confidentiality.

  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and minute-taking skills.

  • Legal right to work in the UK.

School Highlights & Benefits

  • Welcoming, well-organized pastoral team with robust, clear child protection frameworks and supportive leadership.

  • Continuous professional development, including advanced safeguarding (Level 3/DSL) training and specialized record-keeping workshops.

  • Convenient Redbridge location with excellent transport connections (Central Line, Elizabeth Line, local bus routes, and easy access to the A12/M11) plus free on-site staff parking.

  • Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) enrolment and term-time-only working arrangements.
