Role: Teacher of English – KS3–KS4 Location: Ipswich, Suffolk Contract: Full-time, permanent Start Date: ASAP Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience We are seeking a passionate English Teacher to join an established secondary academy in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who can engage pupils in English language and literature, build strong classroom relationships and help students develop the skills needed for GCSE success. The Role Teach English language and literature across Key Stages 3 and 4. Plan engaging lessons covering creative writing, analytical reading, poetry and set texts. Prepare students for GCSE examinations through structured practice and targeted feedback. Monitor attainment and adapt teaching to support pupils of different abilities. Contribute to department planning, assessment and the wider school community. The Candidate Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Has strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills. Can motivate pupils and establish high expectations for learning. Is confident using assessment to identify gaps and improve progress.
