About the Health Foundation

Health is our most precious asset. Good health enables us to live happy, fulfilling lives, fuels our prosperity and helps build a stronger society. Yet good health remains out of reach for too many people in the UK, and health and care services are struggling to provide access to timely, high-quality care.

The Health Foundation is an independent charitable organisation with a mission to build a healthier UK. We work to achieve this by generating high quality research and analysis; developing practical solutions to the biggest problems in health and health services; engaging, convening and building coalitions to build understanding, inform debate and drive action; and developing the long-term capability needed to transform health and care.

About the role

This role sits in the Economics team in the Analysis directorate. You will work closely with other colleagues across the Economics team, the Analysis directorate and the wider Foundation. You will work across multiple projects including rapid responsive work and innovative in-depth economic analysis to influence a range of audiences. You will build relationships and fruitful collaborations with internal and external stakeholders, producing high quality innovative analytical products.

Key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Working with senior economists to develop and implement plans for modelling and analysis, including providing critical challenge to colleagues.

  • Ensuring that findings are effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders both within and outside of the Foundation. This will include drafting and editing written pieces for policy and academic audiences, presenting analysis, and discussions at meetings and workshops.

  • Presenting work internally to colleagues in the Analysis Directorate and other teams with the Health Foundation, and externally to relevant policy stakeholders.

  • Providing support or guidance to more junior members of the team, such as economic analysts and apprentices.

  • Supporting the team to scope and develop its work programme and ways of working.

  • Working with the team's Data Manager to obtain data as necessary and ensuring they are managed appropriately.

  • Providing economic and analysis-based input and advice to Health Foundation colleagues as required.
