📍 Location: Barnet, North London 📅 Start: ASAP 📄 Contract: Permanent, Full-Time 🕐 Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday–Friday 💷 Salary: £31,731 per annum A welcoming school in Barnet is looking for a reliable and practical Caretaker to join its premises team. You will play an important part in keeping the school site safe, secure and well maintained for pupils, staff and visitors. What You'll Be Doing Opening and securing the school buildings and grounds. Carrying out routine site inspections and health and safety checks. Completing minor repairs and general maintenance tasks. Monitoring the condition of classrooms, corridors, toilets and outdoor areas. Setting up rooms and moving furniture for school activities and events. Reporting larger repairs and arranging access for contractors. Keeping pathways and external areas tidy and free from hazards. Responding promptly to maintenance issues and security concerns. About You You will be dependable, hands-on and comfortable working independently as well as part of a wider team. Previous caretaking, maintenance or facilities experience is essential, ideally within a school or similar busy environment. You should have a good understanding of site security, health and safety and the importance of maintaining a safe environment for children. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
