HGV Mechanic

HGV Technician Location: Widness Salary: £45,760-£54,000 + Overtime Available Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Shifts: 4 on 4 off, days or nights Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HGV Technician to join their expanding workshop team in Widness. Working from a modern, purpose-built facility in partnership with a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, you will play a key role in maintaining a varied fleet of HGVs, vans and trailers, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant and operational. Key Responsibilities * Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs, vans and trailers. * Conduct vehicle inspections, identify defects and complete required repairs. * Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment. * Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and present for testing when required. * Complete all work to manufacturer specifications and company standards. * Record inspections, repairs and parts usage accurately using digital job systems. * Communicate repair requirements and progress updates to workshop management. * Ensure all vehicles are thoroughly checked before returning to service. * Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment. Requirements * NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. * Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician. * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities. * Experience carrying out vehicle inspections and MOT preparation. * Experience working on Mercedes-Benz trucks would be advantageous but is not essential. * Comfortable using workshop management and online job recording systems. * Ability to work both independently and as part of a busy workshop team. * Well organised with a strong attention to detail. * Commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship, quality and safety. * HGV Class 1 licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
