\nAre you an experienced Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant looking to take the next step in your finance career?\n
\nCastle Employment is recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a business based in Harrogate. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied finance role, has a keen eye for detail and is looking to further develop their accounting skills.\n
\nThe RoleAs Assistant Accountant, you will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, working closely with the wider finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.\n
\nKey responsibilities will include:\n
\n

\n
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
\n
• Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
\n
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes
\n
• Maintaining accurate financial records and investigating discrepancies
\n
• Processing journals, accruals and prepayments
\n
• Assisting with purchase ledger and sales ledger activities
\n
• Supporting VAT returns and other financial reporting requirements
\n
• Working closely with the finance team to improve processes and efficiencies
\n

About YouWe're looking for someone who has:\n
\n

\n
• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Assistant Accountant role
\n
• A good understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes
\n
• Strong Excel skills and confidence using accounting software
\n
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
\n
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
\n
• Ideally, AAT qualifications or someone studying towards ACCA/CIMA, although relevant experience will also be considered
\n
