ASSISTANT / INTERMEDIATE QUANTITY SURVEYOR – NEC Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 + Car Allowance + Healthcare + Excellent Benefits Location: Manchester / Lancashire | Site Based | 2 Days Working from Home | Weekly North Manchester Office Visit Are you an Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor looking for the opportunity to take the next step in your career and run your own projects? They are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with an Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor who is ready to take ownership of their own projects and continue developing their commercial career. NEC CONTRACT EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL. THE ROLE This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor who is ready to move beyond supporting others and take responsibility for managing their own projects. The company delivers a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the North West, including: * Roads and highways * Civil engineering * Landscaping * Infrastructure * Public realm and associated works You will work closely with the Project and Commercial teams, clients and subcontractors, taking increasing responsibility for the commercial management of your own projects. Key responsibilities will include: * Managing the commercial aspects of your own projects. * Working with NEC contracts and associated contractual processes. * Preparing and managing CVRs. * Preparing valuations and applications for payment. * Managing variations and change. * Assisting with and managing compensation events. * Cost monitoring and forecasting. * Subcontractor procurement and management. * Reviewing subcontractor applications and payments. * Identifying commercial risks and opportunities. * Assisting with final accounts. * Working closely with site and project teams. * Building strong relationships with clients and the supply chain. * Ensuring projects are delivered in line with agreed commercial targets. ABOUT YOU We are looking for either an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor who is ready for more responsibility. You should have: * Previous Quantity Surveying experience. * Strong NEC contract knowledge and practical experience. * Experience within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, highways or a related sector. * Experience with valuations, variations and cost reporting. * A good understanding of commercial and contractual processes. * Strong communication and negotiation skills. * The confidence and ambition to take ownership of your own projects. * A proactive approach and genuine desire to progress your career. NEC EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL FOR THIS POSITION.
