Transport Planner

You will plan and coordinate UK deliveries efficiently and cost-effectively, working closely with customers, drivers, suppliers and our warehouse team. You will keep our transport management system (TMS) up to date and arrange the transport services needed to complete each job. Key Responsibilities * Plan efficient UK delivery routes and make effective use of vehicles and drivers * Update the TMS with accurate job, tracking and delivery information * Book transport jobs and arrange ferry and train services where required * Source backloads to reduce empty miles * Keep customers informed of delivery schedules, changes and issues * Create accurate load manifests and prepare transport paperwork * Coordinate with the warehouse to support timely loading and truck turnaround * Monitor transport costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency * Resolve delivery delays, customer queries and other transport issues * Ensure work is carried out in line with relevant transport and safety requirements Required Skills and Experience * Experience in transport planning or logistics * Good knowledge of UK road networks and transport regulations * Experience using a TMS or similar planning system * Strong communication and organisational skills * Ability to prioritise, solve problems and work under pressure * Good attention to detail Experience with ferry and train bookings, sourcing backloads or warehouse coordination would be an advantage.
