Year 1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Cardiff
Pay: £93–£100 per day
Contract: Full-time, term-time only
Hours: Monday–Friday
Are you a caring, enthusiastic and creative Teaching Assistant who loves helping young children learn and grow?
We’re working with a welcoming primary school in Cardiff who are looking for a fantastic Teaching Assistant to join their Year 1 classroom.
This is a lovely opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, building positive relationships with children and being part of a supportive school team.

The Role
As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support the class teacher with the day-to-day running of the classroom.
• Work with small groups and individual pupils to support their learning and development.
• Help children develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
• Provide encouragement and reassurance to pupils as they transition into Key Stage 1.
• Support with classroom activities, phonics, reading, writing and practical learning.
• Help create a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
• Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.

• Warm, patient and genuinely passionate about working with children.
• Confident supporting children across a range of abilities.
• Proactive and happy to get stuck in wherever needed.
• A strong communicator with a positive attitude.
• Reliable, consistent and committed to making a difference.
• Experienced working within a primary school or with children.
