Job description

Are you an organised and proactive administrator with excellent attention to detail? Do Emmanuel College is seeking a Tutorial Support Administrator to join our friendly and dedicated Tutorial Office team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the academic and pastoral support provided to our undergraduate students throughout their time at College.

About the Role

Working within the Tutorial Office, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Office of the Senior Tutor, Tutorial Office Manager, Tutors and Directors of Studies. You will be at the heart of student administration, helping to ensure that students receive exceptional support throughout their academic journey. This is a full time (37.5 hours per week), permanent position.

The role is varied and engaging and includes:

  • Supporting student applications relating to intermissions, coursework extensions and exam allowances.
  • Administering bursaries, financial assistance schemes and student funding processes.
  • Maintaining student records and undertaking data administration activities.
  • Managing enquiries from students, Fellows and external organisations.
  • Preparing correspondence, reports and student documentation.
  • Assisting with examinations, College events and termly administrative activities.
  • Taking minutes and supporting meetings where required.
  • Providing front-line support for the Tutorial Office and its stakeholders.

About You

We are looking for a highly organised individual who can manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. You will have:

  • A-levels (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Experience working in a varied administrative role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and use your initiative.
  • A calm and flexible approach, particularly during busy periods.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.

Experience in an educational environment and familiarity with Microsoft collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint would be advantageous.

Additional Information

The role requires occasional flexibility to work outside normal office hours, including during examination periods in May and June.
