Location: Inverurie
Contract: 12-month temporary position
Working Pattern: 3 days in the office / 2 days working from home following completion of training

The Opportunity
\n We are currently recruiting for an Accountant to join a busy finance team in Inverurie on an initial 12-month temporary contract.

\n This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a well-established organisation and play an important role in supporting the accurate and timely reporting of financial information across multiple UK ledgers.

\n You will take ownership of the financial reporting for your assigned ledgers, ensuring that balance sheets are fully reconciled, reporting deadlines are met, and all relevant financial controls and SOX requirements are adhered to.
\n The role will involve working closely with colleagues across the UK and internationally, so strong communication, organisation and time-management skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly income statements and fully reconciled balance sheets for assigned UK ledgers.
\n
• Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly SOX compliance documentation.
\n
• Prepare annual statutory audit packs for submission to the Statutory Reporting team.
\n
• Prepare accurate and timely cash forecasts.
\n
• Prepare monthly VAT returns for assigned UK ledgers.
\n
• Review and approve payments in line with established controls and approval requirements.
\n
• Ensure balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled, reviewed and appropriately supported.
\n
• Investigate and resolve outstanding reconciliation items in a timely manner.
\n
• Provide financial information and analysis in response to ad-hoc requests.
\n
• Work collaboratively with Finance, Operations and other stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting queries.
\n
• Support the accuracy and integrity of financial information and proactively identify any issues.
\n
• Participate in relevant finance and business projects as required.
\n
• Ensure all reporting deadlines and financial control requirements are consistently met.
\n

About You
\n We're looking for someone who is organised, commercially aware and confident working within a fast-paced finance environment.
You should have:

\n

\n
• A recognised accounting qualification such as ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA or ACCA.
\n
• Strong general accounting and financial reporting experience.
\n
• Experience working with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end reporting.
\n
• A good understanding of financial controls and compliance requirements.
\n
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
\n
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
\n
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
\n
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders across different teams and locations.
\n
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial issues.
\n
