St Rose's provision is from 2 to 25 years; a nursery, a non-maintained special school for students from 5 to 19 and St Martin’s an independent specialist college for students from 19 to 25. Our students have physical and sensory disabilities, learning and communication difficulties and complex health needs.

Due to an increase in the number of children and young people joining us at our residential school and college, we have two part-time Care Assistant positions available, outside of school and college hours, supporting students in the mornings and evenings. These shifts will include mornings 07:15-10:00 and evenings 15:45- 22:00 Monday – Friday, this may also include weekends; a full shift pattern will be discussed at the point of interview.

We also have one Waking Nights Care Assistant position available; this will include both weekday nights and weekend nights; a full shift pattern will be discussed at the point of interview.

Providing personal care, assisting with eating and drinking, and moving and handling are all important aspects of this role. You will work closely with other care professionals to create a safe and supportive environment that promotes the independence and dignity of our students. A level 3 qualification in health and social care is required. If you don’t already have this qualification, you will need to commence the course once you have joined us.

St Rose’s is an inspiring, stimulating and rewarding place to work, where new challenges abound. We have a strong commitment to support staff in continuing their professional development, and we offer many ways to achieve this. Our staff enjoy a strong sense of community and professional support, as well as a lively and cheerful environment to work in. In addition, there are many other benefits for staff, including a central Stroud location with easy access to buses and trains; on-site parking, attractive grounds, low-cost lunches and subsidised nursery places. We are also offering a joining reward of £100 after the successful completion of 4 months’ probation and a further £100 after the first year of employment. More details of all our benefits can be found in the application pack for candidates.

Candidates will require an enhanced DBS check and two satisfactory references prior to taking up the post. Applications should be made by application form only. CV’s will not be accepted. Application pack and forms are available to download from our website. To apply for this position, you must have a good understanding and use of written and spoken English. Please note we are not able to offer sponsorship.
