Job Title: School Premises Manager Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire Salary: Dependent on experience Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: ASAP About the School An elite and highly respected secondary school in Oxford is seeking an experienced Premises Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation, safety and maintenance of its school site. The successful candidate will be an organised and practical professional who understands the demands of maintaining a busy educational environment and can confidently manage routine maintenance, contractors, compliance checks and site security. Key Responsibilities Overseeing the day-to-day running of the school premises. Opening and securing the school site. Carrying out regular building and grounds inspections. Coordinating general maintenance and repairs. Monitoring heating, lighting, water and security systems. Managing external contractors and service providers. Supporting statutory compliance and health and safety checks. Maintaining records relating to site inspections and maintenance. Supporting fire safety and emergency procedures. Managing deliveries and contractor access. Overseeing outdoor areas, playgrounds and grounds. Identifying maintenance priorities and reporting issues. Assisting with room moves, events and school activities. Ensuring the site remains safe, secure and fit for purpose. Requirements Previous experience managing premises within a school or educational setting is essential. Strong knowledge of school site management and maintenance. Good understanding of health and safety requirements. Experience managing contractors is highly beneficial. Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills. Practical approach to problem-solving. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
