Senior Finance Analyst – Housing Companies \n
£550 per day Umbrella | Inside IR35 | Interim Contract | North London\n

\n We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Finance Analyst to join the Housing Companies Finance team of a major London local authority, supporting its subsidiary housing companies and playing a key role across capital finance, business planning and financial reporting.\n
\n
\n The organisation is a large and diverse London borough with a significant housing portfolio and a strong focus on providing high-quality, affordable homes. Its housing companies include a private rented sector and key worker housing provider, alongside a registered provider of social housing. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute to significant financial and investment decisions across the housing companies.\n

The Role\n
\n
\n Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will act as a senior financial business partner, providing high-level financial advice and analysis across a complex housing environment.\n
\n
\n You will take a lead role in the financial management of the companies' capital programme, ensuring robust monitoring, forecasting and reporting, while supporting longer-term financial planning and investment decisions.\n

Key Responsibilities\n
\n
\n

- Lead the financial management of the capital programme, including monitoring, forecasting and financial reporting. \n
- Undertake investment appraisals to assess the financial viability of future development opportunities. \n
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and company boards. \n
- Take ownership of liquidity and funding, including borrowing, grants and capital receipts. \n
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models and projections, including long-term business planning. \n
- Lead on the capital elements of the Statement of Accounts and support statutory financial reporting. \n
- Lead on capital-related audit queries, ensuring strong financial controls are maintained. \n
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiencies and improved financial performance. \n
- Provide financial and commercial advice to support contracts, procurement and negotiations. \n
- Analyse complex financial information and translate this into clear advice for non-financial stakeholders, Directors and senior decision-makers. \n
- Support the development and modernisation of financial processes, promoting effective financial management and a self-service approach. \n
- Lead and develop junior finance staff, supporting high performance and professional development. \n
- Contribute to major financial decisions, ensuring longer-term financial implications, risks and opportunities are properly considered. \n
About You\n
\n
\n We are looking for a CCAB-qualified accountant with significant experience operating at a senior level within a large and complex organisation.\n
\n
You will ideally have:\n
\n
\n
- \n
- CCAB professional accountancy qualification. \n
- Significant experience providing senior financial advice and leadership. \n
- Strong experience managing and advising on large and complex budgets. \n
- Experience of capital finance, business planning and financial modelling. \n
- Experience preparing accounting statements and statutory returns. \n
- Strong understanding of financial controls, audit and statutory financial reporting. \n
- Experience providing financial/commercial advice around procurement, contracts and negotiations. \n
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial and business information. \n
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex financial matters to senior non-finance stakeholders. \n
- Experience managing or developing junior finance professionals. \n
