Runcorn | Full-Time | £22.97 / hour+ Benefits

WORKING HOURS: 08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 14:00 Friday (30-minute unpaid lunch), 37.5 hours per week

If you an experienced production professional with a passion for leading and motivating a team and driving operational excellence, then our client is looking to appoint a Production Team Supervisor to join their recycling and manufacturing operation in Runcorn.

\n

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role by helping to transform waste materials into valuable resources. The successful candidate will lead frontline production teams, champion continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity are maintained.

\n

The Role

\n

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading day-to-day production activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations across the facility. You will manage Shift Team Leaders, drive performance improvements, and support the delivery of key business objectives.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Promote and maintain a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across the site.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation and management systems.
  • \n
  • Lead and develop Shift Team Leaders to achieve production targets relating to throughput, quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • \n
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies, TPM, Root Cause Analysis, and data-led decision making.
  • \n
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members, supporting succession planning and employee engagement.
  • \n
  • Ensure products consistently meet customer expectations, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • \n
  • Work closely with Engineering and Maintenance teams to maximise equipment reliability and plant performance.
  • \n
  • Conduct operational reviews, analyse performance data, and implement improvement actions.
  • \n
  • Provide support and cover for the Production Manager when required.
  • \n
  • Contribute to sustainability objectives through waste reduction, energy efficiency, and resource optimisation initiatives.

Skills and Experience required:

\n

    \n
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing, production, processing, or recycling environment.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental management.
  • \n
  • Experience driving continuous improvement activities and operational performance.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, OEE, and Root Cause Analysis techniques.
  • \n
  • Excellent people management, coaching, and communication skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to analyse production data and use insights to improve performance.
  • \n
  • A proactive and hands-on leadership style with a focus on delivering results.
  • \n
