Job Description

CER Education are working in collaboration with the well-established multi academy trust: Pope Francis Catholic Multi Academy Trust that are seeking supply Special Needs Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Assistants for several schools in the Southport area for an immediate start. This role has the potential to become a permanent role following temporary appointment.

Key Responsibilities:

\n

    \n
  • Support classroom learning and adapt activities in line with pupils' EHCPs
  • \n
  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with a range of special needs
  • \n
  • Adapt quickly to different school environments with confidence and resilience
  • \n
  • Use a variety of communication methods, strategies, and resources to enhance engagement
  • \n
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, and other support staff to share best practice
  • \n

What We're Looking For:

\n

    \n
  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3 desirable)
  • \n
  • Experience supporting students with special educational needs
  • \n
  • Previous experience in a UK school (references required)
  • \n
  • Strong communication, patience, and relationship‑building skills
  • \n
  • A genuine commitment to helping pupils reach their full potential
  • \n

Early Career Teaching Assistants are encouraged to apply - full guidance and induction support is available.
