About the Role

Pastoral Managers at City of Birmingham School play a central role in creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for pupils with a wide range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs. You will work closely with teaching staff, the SEND team, campus leadership and external agencies to ensure pupils feel secure, understood, and able to engage positively with learning.

Your work will include leading on pastoral interventions, analysing behaviour data, supporting pupils individually and in small groups, and implementing strategies that help remove barriers to learning. You will contribute to behaviour plans, safeguarding processes, risk assessments, and the wider personal development of pupils. You will also play a key role in supporting positive relationships with families and promoting strong communication across the school community.
