Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paediatric Senior Community Staff Nurse who has a special interest in children with neuro-respiratory conditions within our Community Paediatric Nursing department based at Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock.
Hours
28.8 hours over 3 or 4 days
This post is offered on a permanent basis.
UK Driving Licence
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will Do
You will work within the children's Community Nursing team which provides care for babies, children and young people throughout Ayrshire & Arran. You will be responsible for the care and support for children with neuro-respiratory and complex respiratory conditions as well as assisting our other community nursing services where required. The post holder will develop nurse led clinics with a focus on children with neuro-respiratory and complex respiratory conditions enhancing their care through targeted intervention. You will deliver high-quality family centred care and provide support in a variety of settings including clinics in the acute hospital and child development centre, schools, early years facilities and family homes.
Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post
- First level children’s nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration.
- Significant relevant experience, demonstrating the appropriate competencies and skills for the role.
- Evidence of further education, for example, post-graduate certification/diploma/Continuous Professional Development in relevant area.
- Effective listening and interpersonal skills.
- Time management skills/ability to prioritise workload.
- Leadership skills.
- Excellent team working skills and the ability to work using own initiative.
- Evidence of effective problem solving skills.
- IT and database management skills.
- Independent Nurse Prescribing Qualification (Level 9 or Level 11) desired.
