Job Summary
At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft.
Here, you'll put your skills into work you can be proud of, taking on big challenges alongside experienced people and seeing the impact of what you make travel around the world. It's work that tests your skills, builds your experience and gives you a real sense of achievement.
This is a full-time, permanent position on the following shift pattern (which includes 25% shift premium):
Week 1: Saturday, Sunday, Thursday, Friday
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
There is opportunity to work night shifts once fully trained which incurs an additional 33% shift premium.
How You'll Contribute
In this role, you'll work with materials including Titanium, Aluminium and Stainless Steel, carrying our a variety of work including:
- Swaging
- Pipe Bending
- Drilling, Reaming & Countersinking
- Operating relevant fabrication machinery
What You'll Bring
You'll need a recognised level 3 apprenticeship (NVQ/C&G) or equivalent in a relevant fabrication field, along with:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work to standard operating procedures
- Must be able to work in small teams with Team Leaders
- Self-motivated team player with good communication skills
- Ability to operate CNC Machinery (Unison Pipe Bending machines, Power Presses, CNC Drilling & routering)

- Starting salary of £36,717 rising to £38,220 once fully certified (after around 3 months) plus shift allowance (up to 33%) totalling £47,775 for day shift or £50,832.60 for night shift + Up to 4% Bonus
