Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a Specialist Grade in Radiology with an interest in Breast and/or Gynaecological Imaging to join and strengthen our established and highly regarded Radiology team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive department where collaboration, innovation, and service development are actively encouraged.
This 12-month fixed term post will expand the medical staffing establishment in Radiology to 14, further enhancing the resilience and expertise of the service. Multidisciplinary collaboration is a key strength of the service and plays a central role in delivering high-quality patient-centred care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate experience in diagnostic and interventional Breast and/or Gynaecological Imaging, including reporting across plain film, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. The role also includes undertaking ultrasound-guided breast interventions.
Additional subspecialty reporting skills, such as paediatric radiology, GI, GU and neuroradiology, would be welcomed.
The successful candidate will also provide support to General Radiology services, including participation in on-call and acute imaging work, ensuring the continued delivery of safe and effective patient care.

Qualifications

- On GMC's Register
- FRCR
Desirable
- Appropriate Radiology Fellowship
- Advanced or further degrees
- CCT at interview date or undertaking/submitted CESR
Experience
Essential
- Experience in General Radiology such on call, acute CT, CT staging studies
- Appropriate sub-specialist experience in Breast and/or Gynaecological Radiology for example mammograms, US guided biopsies, MRI pelvis
- Confident with Information Technology
Desirable
- Knowledge of a wide range of educational methods
- Managerial skills
- Experience in Breast intervention, including jook wire localisation, marker clip placement, MAGSEED placement
- Breast MRI reporting
Training
Essential
- In General Radiology (CT, MR, US, Plain Films, Fluoroscopy) with experience in sub-specialist training in Breast and/or Gynaecological Radiology
