Job Summary
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and highly self-motivated individual(s) to join our Pharmacy team and to complete the Pharmacy Technician Training Programme (non-apprenticeship route).

Your duties will be varied and will involve contributing to the delivery of pharmacy services across various sites within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust whilst meeting the requirements of the training programme.

On completion of the Pharmacy Technician Training Programme, you will be required to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Please note that this vacancy is for the non‑apprenticeship route and is intended for applicants who do not meet the eligibility criteria for apprenticeship levy funding.

Applicants are required to have previous pharmacy experience. More information can be found at:
Apply through our website

Why you should join our Team
You will be joining a team of pre-registration trainee Pharmacy Technicians rotating around each LTHT site and you will meet a wide range of people from lots of different backgrounds. Working closely with your fellow trainee pharmacy technicians and multi-disciplinary teams you will gain valuable knowledge and skills along the way.

Your duties will include working in our hospital inpatient and outpatient pharmacies, dispensing prescriptions and issuing prescribed items, contributing to all aspects of pharmaceutical stock control

You will gain experience working on the hospital inpatient wards, delivering pharmacy ward-based services including taking patient medication histories and educating patients on their medicines. There will also be placements within other MMPS departments with a possibility of visiting other pharmacy organisations external to LTHT.

Leeds is a wonderful city to work in and LTHT is an organisation that puts its patients first and highly values and supports staff.

Pharmacy is a forward-thinking department that values the contribution of all our staff. MMPS is recognised in the organisation for its collaborative working, and we continuously support our workforce to develop their potential in delivering the best patient care.

Please note that if you are shortlisted you will be invited to a two-stage recruitment process. This will include a face-to-face interview and practical assessment(s). Job offers will be dependent on successful completion of both stages.

What you will bring to the role
You will be required to work with different pharmacy teams whilst completing the programme. You will need to demonstrate that you are a team player, be a proactive learner and be able to plan and organise your own workload. You need to be flexible in your approach to work and have good attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, a professional attitude and patient centred approach are essential.

The post holder will be required to work evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays on a rotational basis.
