Telephone Sales Newcastle

We are looking for an internal salesperson within our Newcastle-Upon-Tyne branch. This position ideally requires candidates with experience within wholesale industry – Such as Electrical Wholesalers, Plumbing Merchants, Hardware Shops or Builders Merchants.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to work within a small team in a fast-paced office environment. Key duties include dealing with customer enquiries and orders, supplier liaison, stock control and proactive sales activities.

This position is ideally suited to candidates with experience within the Electrical Wholesale industry, however individuals who are looking for progression from their current roles will also be considered.

Established in 1934 and operating from 60 locations throughout the country, servicing all sectors of the electrical market we have over 90 years’ worth of experience in the electrical wholesale sector.

The position offers an excellent opportunity for career progression in an established and respected independent wholesaler.

Duties:

• Processing quotations & sales orders for customers.
• Workings closely with a large customer base, ensuring orders are completed accurately.
• To increase the turnover and profit of the branch through the development of both existing and new customer accounts.
• Assist on the trade counter and incoming telephone calls.
• To assist with the smooth running of the branch in the absence of the Manager or delivery driver.
• Assist with managing stock levels and ordering stock from manufactures.

Ideal person:

• At least 2 years experience in a similar role (Wholesale or trade merchant)
• High attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Good IT skills and quick to learn new systems

Package:

• Attractive base salary (Negotiable based on experience)
• Generous 25 day holiday entitlement + bank holidays
