You will work closely with project teams and supply chain partners to ensure construction activities are delivered in line with project quality requirements, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant energy infrastructure projects while developing your career within a supportive and collaborative organisation.

Role Responsibilities

  • Undertake quality inspections, audits, reviews, and surveillance activities across project sites.
  • Ensure subcontractors and delivery teams comply with quality assurance and quality control requirements.
  • Promote progressive assurance practices to identify and resolve quality issues at the earliest opportunity.
  • Review, manage, and maintain quality records and documentation, ensuring timely completion and compliance with project requirements.
  • Support the preparation, review, and close-out of inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality reports, and non-conformance documentation.
  • Coordinate with project, engineering, construction, and supply-chain teams to drive quality performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in identifying quality risks and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support project handover activities by ensuring all quality documentation is complete, accurate, and auditable.

Essential (Skills, Experience and Qualifications)

  • Degree-qualified in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in a Quality Engineer, Quality Advisor, or similar quality-focused role within infrastructure, engineering, construction, or utilities projects.
  • Understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes within a project delivery environment.
  • Experience managing and reviewing quality documentation and project records.
  • Strong diligence and an initiative-taking approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to achieve quality objectives.

Desirable

  • Experience working on electricity transmission, overhead line (OHL), substation, or power infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of platforms such as Viewpoint, FieldView, or similar quality management systems.
  • Understanding of quality management systems and audit processes.
  • Experience working within major infrastructure frameworks or regulated environments.
  • Professional membership of a relevant engineering or quality institution.

What is in it for you?

  • Generous holiday entitlement with the option to buy five days.
  • Flexible and adaptable working
  • Family friendly policies and work/life approach
  • Mentoring programmes and continuous learning support
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • Recognition scheme and long service awards
  • Car scheme and Private Medical Insurance (if applicable to role)
  • We also provide the option to participate in our share-save scheme; discounts including cycle to work and gym membership; a support and advice service for colleagues and their families, and more.
