Job description

About The Firm

We are Eversheds Sutherland, a global law firm with over 5,000 people in more than 30 countries. We are full‑service with deep niche and sector experience, proud of our core values of purpose and purpose‑led action. We support a culture where everyone can thrive.

What to Expect

As a lawyer on the authorised funds team, you will work on a range of projects from regional to international, growing a global mindset and tackling new and varied challenges. We encourage ideas and innovation, and currently we are embedding generative AI across client service.

Authorized Funds Team

Our team is a market leader in retail and authorised funds, ranked Tier 1 by the Legal 500 and Band 1 by Chambers. We advise on UCITS, non‑UCITS retail schemes, OEICs, authorised unit trusts, property funds, charitable funds and the Long Term Asset Fund. You will support fund structure, tax and regulatory compliance, investment strategy and asset transfers.

Role and Key Responsibilities

You will advise fund houses, asset managers, depositaries, wealth managers and institutional investors. Your day‑to‑day tasks will include:

  • Establishing and supporting authorised and retail funds
  • Advising on FCA regulatory framework and industry‑specific contracts
  • Working on alternative investment funds and investor‑side matters
  • Using legal technology and AI tools for research, drafting, document review and data analysis
  • Managing a heavy workload and competing client demands

Skills and Experience

Applicants should have 0–3 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in finance or asset management. Ideal candidates also demonstrate:

  • Familiarity with the FCA framework for authorised funds
  • A commitment to quality client service
  • Commercial awareness and ability to manage workload
  • Initiative, ownership and strong relationship building
  • Enthusiasm for the role and continuous learning
  • Willingness to use technology and AI responsibly
  • Interest in working with London‑based and international clients

Benefits

We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Fair, transparent and equitable remuneration aligned to performance and values
  • Flexible working options and remote‑work policy
  • Healthcare, dental and wellness support
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion with mentoring and training programmes
  • Career development and international exposure
  • Pro bono work and community engagement opportunities
  • Retirement planning, insurance and assurance support

Diversity & Inclusion

We value diversity of skills, perspectives and backgrounds, and we foster an inclusive, collaborative culture. We are committed to reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process and throughout the role.
