Maintenance Engineer

Maintenance Engineer | Glasshouse Growing | Cambridgeshire

If you like your work environment climate-controlled, high-tech, and growing something you can actually see thrive - this one's worth a look.

MorePeople are recruiting a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a leading glasshouse/greenhouse growing business in Cambridgeshire, known for producing fresh produce on a serious scale using some of the most advanced growing technology in the UK.

Why engineers who've worked in controlled environment growing rate this kind of role:

• High-tech, not just hands-on - you'll be maintaining heating, irrigation, climate control, and automation systems, not just spanners and grease.
• Genuine variety - mechanical, electrical, plumbing and controls work across a large site, with planned and reactive maintenance in equal measure.
• See the results of your work - the systems you maintain directly affect what's growing around you. Tangible, visible impact, every shift.
• Scale and investment - a large, modern site with significant ongoing investment in equipment and technology, so you're working with the latest kit, not patching up the old stuff.
• A close-knit engineering team - you won't be on your own; you'll be part of a team that knows the site inside out and backs each other up.

What you'll bring:

• Experience as a maintenance engineer, ideally within horticulture, food production, or a similar controlled-environment or manufacturing setting
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
• Comfortable working with heating, irrigation, or automated systems (training available if this is new to you)
• A proactive, reliable approach - happy working shifts where required
• Full UK driving licence

What's on offer:

• Competitive salary, dependent on experience
• Stable, long-term role with a well-established grower
• Modern site with genuine investment in technology and equipment
• A role where you can see the direct impact of your work

If you're a maintenance engineer who wants variety, tech, and a job with real purpose, we'd love to hear from you.
