Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently supporting the recruitment of a dedicated and compassionate Assistant SENCO on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive school community.

This full-time opportunity is ideal for a passionate professional who is committed to supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive both academically and personally.

The successful candidate will work closely with the school's Director of Inclusion to support the strategic development of SEND provision and contribute to the delivery of high-quality inclusive practice across the school.

The Role

  • Supporting the identification and assessment of pupils with SEND
  • Assisting with the coordination and delivery of targeted interventions
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, families, and external agencies
  • Monitoring pupil progress and maintaining accurate SEND documentation
  • Supporting EHCP reviews and annual review processes
  • Promoting inclusive classroom practices and pupil wellbeing
  • Contributing to the wider SEND and inclusion strategy across the school

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has experience supporting children with SEND within an educational setting
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Is passionate about inclusion and pupil achievement
  • Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Is proactive, adaptable, and solution-focused
  • Holds relevant SEND qualifications or is willing to work towards them

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
