Band 5 Occupational Therapy rotation

Collaboration and mutual support are at the foreground of everything we do, and we would like you to be part of our team., Whilst, on the Forensic part of the rotation, you will be based on Pine Ward , at The Chichester Centre, - the post does involve cross ward working, co-facilitation of groups with other disciplines and development of risk assessed social inclusion work .

Aspects of the role include:

• To be named Occupational Therapist for 17 inpatients - with regular support from professional supervisor and other members of the clinical team , using evidence based/ client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.?
• To provide occupational therapy interventions following OT Pathway for referred clients as part of a multi-agency approach to meeting the health and social care needs of people who use our services.?
• To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of occupational therapy and local services within a designated team.?
• To contribute to and facilitate occupational therapy interventions including 1:1 and group work with regular support and supervision.
• To develop and risk assess community focused activities with an emphasis on social inclusion.

You will gain a balance of mental health and physical health experience in the community and in hospital-based settings. You will receive full support as we encourage development of your core OT skills within well-established therapy teams. We understand the transition from student to practitioner can be challenging and we are dedicated to developing your full potential in each of the 4 pillars of practice. We have a strong focus on teaching and development including regular in-service training, protected CPD time and a Band 6 led band 5 peer support group.
