This role forms part of the frontline of a multi-disciplinary team, working with children and adolescents experiencing a crisis, within the borders of
Hertfordshire. You will provide specialist assessments within the A&E setting, follow ups and short term interventions for young people aged under 18 suffering from acute and complex emotional, behavioural, and psychological crisis.
We are looking for experienced Mental Health Nurses to join our service. Our clinicians provide crisis telephone line support, triage and assessment as well as face to face assessments, follow ups and brief interventions in the community. Most referrals currently come from the two A&E's in Hertfordshire, although with our new crisis telephone line we are trying to prevent anyone attending A&E if they do not have a physical need to be there. The C-CATT service operates 24/7, this role will involve day, evening, night and weekend working.
As well as a relevant professional qualification we are looking for people who have:
- Knowledge of Mental Health problems that affect young people
- An ability to work with Children and Young People in challenging situations.
A car driver is an essential element to the role (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010 which prevents you from driving)
