Part-Time Property / Service Charge Accountant
Location: Hampstead, London
Working Pattern: Approximately 3 Days Per Week
Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 per annum
About the Role
An established and respected independent estate agency in Hampstead is seeking an experienced Property / Service Charge Accountant to join the business in a newly created position. Supporting both the Property Management and Block Management teams, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key accounting functions while contributing to the continued growth and development of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of annual service charge accounts
- Production and management of service charge budgets
- Client account reconciliations
- Processing and raising invoices
- Managing accruals and prepayments
- Monitoring arrears and producing financial reports
- Liaising with external accountants and auditors
- Providing financial support and guidance to Property Managers and Block Managers
- Assisting with the preparation of financial information and reports as required
- Reviewing, improving, and streamlining existing accounting processes and procedures
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and industry requirements
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience within property accounting and be comfortable working independently in a part-time capacity.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:
- Residential property accounting
- Service charge accounting
- Block management accounting
- Client accounting
You will also possess:
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience working alongside Property Management or Block Management teams
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
