Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Assess clients for suitability for psychological interventions within the stepped care model.
Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the stepped care principles and protocols, and direct/signpost unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.
Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for clients.
Develop communication skills in working with people to understand their personal and often very sensitive difficulties.
Begin to exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of clients in line with the service and university principles.
Adhere to agreed activity relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to meet the requirements of the Diploma course being undertaken.
Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service and by the University.

Desirable criteria
- holds a core professional qualification
Experience

- has experience of working in a mental health setting
Desirable criteria
- has experience of working in a Talking Therapies Service

- Skills to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
